Update: A long time coming...

This picture of #manchild2, now 10, & sweet neighbor-fwend Teagan makes me happy & shows a moment of care-free, simple pleasures with our beloved #culdesaccrew playing outside.

We’ve officially been in our home for a year now!
& Boy has He affirmed our decision! I am so very grateful for His grace upon grace in going before.

In the last month, Pam has finished radiation with her usual strength & determination. She’s back to work (from home) & has energy & life in her that brings such awe. She’s living a new normal on hormone therapy for the indefinite future & we are prayerful that her scans later this year bring only good news.

Now Steve, after a recent scan showing growth in his brain tumor, started radiation a week ago & will continue for 5 weeks. The hope is to shrink the tumor & gain back some cognitive & speech abilities that have declined since moving to FTW. The drs are optimistic that side-effects & swelling will be minimal & short-lived if they occur. Praying, similarly, that his future scans show improvement.

J is a man-beast & works so hard for this family. He plays just as hard as he works & I can’t wait to see him in our natural habitat this weekend...the great outdoors!!

Tob is a chiseled #manchild1 & I double take each time I glance his way. It’s weird. His grades have dipped this year as he learns to navigate priorities on his own in #8thgrade & allergies are killing him here in the cow country of FTW. All in all, the kid is a specimen like his father & I am “that mom” that swells with pride when I see him.

Bear. Oh Bear. This one has kept me homebound & concerned for much of 2018 due to an increase of migraines. The poor baby is cursed and has abdominal migraines that have officially altered our way of life. Having said that, we’ve visited dr & are hardcore practicing headache hygiene & journaling all life for the following 4 weeks to return back to dr & evaluate from there. Praising God that he passed his neurological exam!! We can deal with food triggers & diet management. Lord knows I have.

I’m the usual headcase of the house. I’m quarantined upstairs most days thinking on all that I should have done the day before & so hindered in my ability to do today. 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️ I have had massive “fibro-funk” (fibromyalgia flair up) thus far in 2018 & was beginning to think (in my usual drama fashion) that I’d be crippled by December. I, however, have just walked into a season of relief & have been out of the house & even found energy to exercise! I’m anxiously awaiting my next trip to Kenya and missing my people there. Hopeful to join the team in April. Time will tell.

Life here is nothing short of entertaining & if the Lord so leads you - send up a prayer for our chaos. Lord knows I distract & find joy in praying for yours (so send any requests my way)!
